The library at Heidelberg, the most important German Renaissance library, was founded in 1430th and contained umbering approximately 5,000 printed books and 3,500 manuscripts (including from Ulrich Fugger's library). The Bibliotheca was captured during the Thirty Years' War, taken as booty by Maximilian of Bavaria and presented to the Pope. While some of the books and manuscripts are now in the University of Heidelberg, the bulk of the original collection is in the Bibliotheca Apostolica Vaticana.

"The two-volume English-language Catalogue of Incunabula in the National Library of Poland details the collection of fifteenth-century prints held by the BNP, the sixth-largest such collection in Poland (1,131 copies of 1,034 printed editions). This new publication continues the tradition of research into the oldest surviving examples of printing, begun by Kazimierz Piekarski before the Second World War. The Catalogue describes incunabula from a number of important historical collections, including the famous Biblioteka Ordynacji Zamojskiej (Count Zamoyski Family Library) and the Count Tarnowski Family Library in Dzików. It includes descriptions of objects saved from the pre-War collection of the National Library, almost completely destroyed following the Warsaw Uprising. The Catalogue further adds to our bibliographic knowledge of fifteenth-century printing by presenting a number of unique items not covered in the existing literature. It also contains specialized descriptions of the medieval manuscripts that are bound together with the incunabula, and selected post-incunabula. L'viv Druzhyna 1938 12mo (18.5 cm), 239 pp. Publisher's printed wrappers designed by Jacques Hnizdovsky (1915 - 1985), a Ukrainian-born American painter, printmaker, graphic designer and illustrator. One of the first covers designed by Hnizdovsky (dated 1937), who in 1938 just entered the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. Natalena Koroleva (Carmen-Alfonsa-Fernanda-Estrella-Natalena Dunin-Borkowska) was a daughter of Polish count and Spanish princess and a Ukrainian writer. This is the first edition of her best novell, "A Dream of a Shadow", set in Alexandria during the rein of the Roman Emperor Hadrian. Wrappers frayed at extremities, small parts of paper missing along the spine, inside paper slightly browned.
